Not to rant on about this trivial issue - but there ARE several million people in NJ, PA & DE who get some or all of thier drinking water from the Delaware river & bay.

Here are some other excerpts from a different article (same paper, same day) on the subject:

http://www.courierpostonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060226/NEWS01/602260399/1006

"the Army Corps of Engineers would have to prove dumping the toxin in the Delaware is the cheapest option available"

"Comments from DuPont in mid-2004 indicated the company could make $13.5 million annually during the two- to three-year treatment process. Details of the contract or government payments to DuPont during preparations for the work were unavailable."

"Army officials could not be reached Friday. The Newport VX disposal depot reported last week that it had destroyed about 11 percent of a 250,000 gallon VX stockpile, with wastewater from the process stored in mobile containers pending a decision on the DuPont project."

"Brendan Gilfillan, a spokesman for New Jersey's governor, said Jon S. Corzine remains concerned about the proposal."

"We're still very interested in seeing the result of the CDC's study of the human impact"

"It's not going to bring any new jobs to New Jersey"

Nerve Gas Plan Revived

Courier Post Online
Sunday, February 26, 2006
By JEFF MONTGOMERY
Gannett News Service
WILMINGTON, Del.

The Environmental Protection Agency has dropped its objections to a plan to treat and dispose of chemical weapon wastewater at a DuPont Co. plant along the Delaware River.

The agency cited changes to the treatment scheme and new safety assurances. Based on the new information, the "EPA believes that all of our previously identified ecological concerns have been resolved," said Walter Mugdan, director of the EPA's Environmental Planning and Protection division in New York.

DuPont wants a lucrative Army contract to treat 2 million to 4 million gallons of a caustic chemical soup left over from an operating VX nerve agent disposal operation in Newport, Ind. VX is a deadly military nerve agent.

Delaware and New Jersey opposed an earlier version of the treatment and disposal plan. Officials in both states pointed to concerns that traces of VX, other toxic byproducts and basic pollutants would reach the river even after treatment in DuPont's wastewater operation at its Chambers Works plant in Deepwater, Salem County.

Good post. Excellent. The treasonous scum clearly need to be impeached ASAP.

"...war profiteers...."

10% of income for war bonds, eh? In order to defeat those who would enslave us? Well, my Dad fought the Japs as a US Marine back then. He now pays over 10% of his yearly retirement income in property taxes alone. (A super-palatial 3BR ranch on a quarter acre that needs a new roof, among many other things.) But we're all 'free' though - right?

Yeah, yeah - the local gubmint picks up the trash & plows the roads. They also fine people who park unregistered/un-tagged vehicles on thier property, and continue to indoctrinate the childruns in the government schools. And should people in thier 80's really be required to pay for this edukashun for 60+ years? (I graduated a few years ago, you see...)

And good post Brady.

LOL!

I offered to do anything I could to assist in the fixing of the MySQL problems on several occasions - but was ignored and treated like a leper. On every occasion I then responded by making my posts even more inane than previously. All of my brilliant posts on the culinary arts, gardening, and the irradication of chipmunks have now been lost. This constitutes an enormous destruction of my own intellectual property. My lawyer Felix has already purchased a new Lexus in anticipation. So fear not!

This one in Gisborne, NZ is really too expensive for what it is. Has a good amount of land, though.

Better to buy land & build new.

Yeah, yeah - we're on a mission from God and all that  - but HOW do I create a new thread?

Well then let's hook up and move to Costa Rica or the south island of New Zealand and quit all of this freedom-fighting BS. We'll raise chickens & tilapia fish and grow a kick-ass organic vegetable & fruit garden while we manage our investments and online business ventures via satellite up-link. Whaddya say?

"It was a runaway.  We rode it for a while, then it crashed"

So there was NO ONE who was dicking-around with the SQL query scripts & what-not?

I want 'self-search' and 'multiple-recipient post' features here.
(Hey, I'm easy.)

Do I need to insert the crank-handle beneath the radiator and turn,
and then push the starter button - or just put 92 octane unleaded
in the tank? What's the deal?

My 'home-made pizza-philosophy' thread is now obviously on hold
indefinitely.

My whole life has been so disrupted that I forgot to feed the squirrels.

Therefore, if needed, I am available to write as much defective SQL code
as may be required.

No one will ever get my pizza recipes now -
'cause I'm just so dang ticked-off about it all.

So I guess we ARE all doomed, then. Bummer.
Yesterday I yelled at the useless staffers at my congressman's
and both of my senator's offices on the phone.
Think that helped? Probably just doomed me more....

Highly Important Questions:

1) How do I do a 'self-search' on this infernal thing?

2) Is LF totally dead? Is anyone trying to fix it?

3) What happened, anyway?

4) It wasn't my pizza recipe post that crashed the forum, was it?

5) Are we all doomed?

6) Do I need to type up some XML code to import my all-important 50-rating?

LOL!

Just to be on the safe side, I have chosen to impersonate my twin brother.
