Charles Kokesh indicted over tusk sales

Santa Fe businessman Charles Kokesh has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pensacola, Fla., on charges of violating the Endangered Species Act by selling two elephant tusks — the latest in a litany of legal problems for the venture capitalist.

According to the three-count indictment returned Wednesday, Kokesh legally imported a “sport-hunted elephant trophy mount” from the African country of Namibia, but illegally sold the two tusks to a buyer in Florida for $8,100, to be paid with a combination of currency and guns.

After the sale, Kokesh allegedly lied about it in an email to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by claiming the tusks had been shipped to an appraiser in anticipation of a donation to a nonprofit. He also is accused of giving false information about the location and disposition of the tusks.

The maximum penalty for the violation of the Endangered Species Act is up to six months in prison and a $25,000 fine. The Lacy Act makes a false statement punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Kokesh, 65, was not available for comment Friday. No one answered the buzzer of the closed gate of his home at 708 Camino Corrales — a property that he is ordered by court to vacate by May 31.

Thornburg Mortgage Home Loans Inc. sued Charles and Marla Kokesh for foreclosure in 2008, claiming the couple defaulted on a $4.3 million debt on the property.

An April 1 petition from the lawyers for U.S. Bank National Association, the successor to Thornburg Mortgage Home Loans, accused Kokesh of using improper stalling tactics to remain in the house rent-free for five years, despite a summary judgment in the case four years ago. “It is time Defendants moved out,” they wrote. “It is time for this case to end.”

The plea may have been in reference to a March 20 affidavit from Marla Kokesh, who said that as a psychiatrist and enrolled member of a Chippewa band, she is working with the Hopi tribe in Arizona and will not return to Santa Fe until April 4.

On April 24, state District Judge Sarah Singleton set midnight May 31 as the deadline for the Kokeshes to leave their home or to pay a penalty of $750 per day after that date.

Kokesh is also negotiating with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which accuses him of misappropriating $45 million from investors from his days as a venture capitalist in California. The SEC says this is the first case it has ever brought in New Mexico.

Kokesh, a licensed attorney, moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Santa Fe in the 1990s after the SEC turned down his bid to allow people to invest in his venture-capital schemes over the phone using credit cards. He initially bought the Santa Fe Horse Park so that he and his friends would have a place to play polo. But in 2007, Los Alamos National Bank filed for foreclosure on that property, claiming Kokesh was in default on a note of about $2.25 million.

That was followed by the repossession of Kokesh’s luxury motor home and other lawsuits alleging unpaid debts by Kokesh and his wife.

Kokesh’s most recent job was as chief executive officer of Dakota Arms in Sturgis, S.D. He sold the rifle-manufacturing plant to Remington in 2009. That year, he donated a Dakota Arms rifle to a Republican fundraiser in Santa Fe, joking that “I certainly wouldn’t oppose shooting all of the corrupt lawyers and Democrats.”

According to a Wednesday news release from the U.S. Department of Justice announcing the indictments against Charles Kokesh, African elephants are protected under the Endangered Species Act and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), of which both the United States and Namibia are signatories.

The release says the CITES treaty states that elephant species in Namibia are not necessarily threatened with extinction now, but may become so unless trade in specimens of such species is strictly regulated. Since 2000, the Namibian African elephant listing has specified that the species cannot be used for commercial purposes.

For anyone who has followed my articles over the past several years you probably already know that I have been highly critical of various figures in the so-called alternative media and patriot movement. Many of the people associated with these groups are paid shills, gatekeepers, useful idiots, scam artists and sometimes just downright bad people. Important topics that don’t fit the controlled opposition narrative surrounding any number of subjects such as criticism of Abrahamic religions and Zionism are often marginalized or ignored. For years I have maintained that many of these people are part of a controlled opposition front which would eventually be used to start a civil war or at the very least provide a pretext for a militarized crackdown by the government. With this in mind, the whole narrative surrounding Adam Kokesh and his planned July 4th open carry march on Washington DC and other state capitol buildings has been of great concern to me. The plan is for Kokesh and his supporters to march towards these capitol buildings while openly carrying firearms. In Washington DC you are not allowed to openly carry a firearm unless you wear a goofy blue uniform and hold a badge because the people running that city hate freedom. As a result, the potential for a violent confrontation or a staged event to demonize gun owners, patriots and others is highly probable if this march goes on as planned.

For those who are unfamiliar with Adam Kokesh he is an Iraq War veteran who has received a great deal of attention from corporate media outlets for participating in various anti-war protests. He is also known for doing a television show called Adam vs. the Man on Russia Today (RT) which has since been cancelled. Kokesh has been arrested during different political protests including recently in Philadelphia during a marijuana legalization rally. Each time this man has been arrested the incident appears to be the product of staged theatrics. Check out video of Kokesh being arrested for dancing at the Jefferson Memorial here and his arrest at the Philadelphia marijuana legalization rally here and you can decide for yourself. His arrest in Philadelphia is especially puzzling because there was no legitimate reason for him to be specifically arrested. It was almost as if his arrest was pre-planned despite the fact that this has been used by the alternative media to highlight government tyranny, the police state and the like. In reality, the alternative media should be questioning if this was just an orchestrated public relations stunt but instead they are accepting the arrest at face value.

Even if we were to believe that these arrests were legitimate this most recent arrest has conveniently helped spawn propaganda from radio talk show host Alex Jones and others that he had been disappeared by the government and other ridiculous exaggerated nonsense. This in turn has provided more press coverage for Kokesh’s upcoming planned march.

Kokesh along with Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin are arguably two of the most well-known anti-war protesters around today. Interestingly enough both Kokesh and Benjamin just happen to be Jewish. The power structure that both of them are claiming to be protesting against is dominated by Jewish extremism but neither of them have focused much attention on this very obvious fact. It is highly probable that their tribal connection is why both of these people have been involved in several highly publicized media events. Kokesh is the cult of personality anti-war figure representing tea party Libertarians and Benjamin is the cult of personality anti-war figure representing Green Party leftists. Like Kokesh, Benjamin was also involved in a recent high profile incident after heckling Barack Obama during his national security speech a few days ago. I think it is a reasonable question to ask how two of the most high profile anti-war protesters just happen to be Jewish. I also think it is reasonable to ask why neither of them have been vocal about the crimes committed by other members of a group that they openly identify themselves with. At least Carl Bernstein the Jewish reporter who exposed the Watergate scandal back in the 1970s had the guts to call out Jewish neo-conservatives for their role in devising the Iraq War on MSNBC just a short while ago. It’d be nice to see the same type of courage from both Kokesh and Benjamin.

I certainly don’t expect everyone to agree with my point of view on this but I just can’t help but think that there is something very strange about Kokesh even if you decide to totally disregard the Jewish angle to all of this. In my opinion Kokesh appears to be a paid actor of some kind. Generally speaking the corporate media won’t give this much attention to a protester unless they are a useful idiot or controlled opposition. Dating back to the Bush 43 regime, Kokesh received a great deal of corporate media attention after holding up a sign showing the amount of times then Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said, “I don’t recall” during congressional testimony. So for years the corporate media has had no problem giving him free exposure.

Another question is how Kokesh and some of these other high profile protesters have the means to travel around the country and attend these events. Traveling is expensive so unless RT paid him a ton of money to do his television show it would be interesting to find out where he’s getting the resources to do all of this. The most logical answer would be that someone is paying for his expenses and even paying him to lead and organize these different protests. Perhaps someone would like to shed some light on this and identify how this man has been able to support himself over the past several years.

With all this said, it makes his plans for open carry marches around the country something of great concern. There is a distinct possibility that this is an operation being steered by the forces of controlled opposition. While Kokesh was allegedly being held in prison he issued a statement calling for an American Revolutionary Army to march on each state capital demanding that state governors secede from the United States and seize federally held land. He would even go on to say that we may have passed the point at which non-violent revolution becomes impossible. The marches are also being supported by Alex Jones who has said that he plans to go down to Washington DC to cover the July 4th event. Clearly Kokesh who was recently released from jail is endorsing the prospect of civil war as a potential solution to resolve the corruption and tyranny in Washington DC with these statements. The fact that we now have someone like Kokesh making statements like this shows that what I have been warning about for years is finally starting to come to pass.

Even though I fully support the principles of open carry, the concept of an open carry march on Washington DC and other state capitol buildings opens up the flood gates for any number of staged events to occur. What would happen if an agent provocateur shoots some policemen or a legitimate fire fight breaks out between protesters and police? Immediately after, we’d have all sorts of propagandists and useful idiots calling again for more gun control measures, government crackdowns on domestic terrorists and other rubbish. Worse yet, it could give the government the appropriate justification to further terrorize the American people with their authoritarian militarized police state apparatus.

If the average American zombie perceives that civil war or mass civil strife was started by patriots, constitutionalists, protesters and the like, than the public will not support any effort to violently over throw the government. In order for any sort of violent insurrection against the government to succeed, the American people must perceive that the government fired the first shots and was largely responsible for instigating the conflict. If that happens then the people will support the causes of those that seek to restore the country to limited Constitutional government and overthrow what would be perceived as an authoritarian illegitimate regime. If the perception is the opposite, these attempts will fail and the end result will be a greater expansion of the domestic control grid.

I am certainly no fan of the federal government but this plan for an open carry march on Washington DC and state capitol buildings is highly questionable especially considering who is leading and supporting it. I just see the possibility of more bad then good arising from these marches. The fact that Alex Jones is supporting it raises even more questions. This is a guy who recently said that half of his family members at family reunions are former CIA members, a topic of which I’ll be discussing in a future article.

I’m sure there will be a number of people who will completely disagree with my opinions on this and that’s fine. Instead please go ahead and believe the guy who has numerous family connections to America’s largest terrorist organization the CIA. After all, a guy like that wouldn’t lie to you would he?

As ‘salt of the earth’ trio awaits sentencing, local Jewish community expresses concern both for welfare of detainees, image of Jewish businesses

Three young Israelis are imprisoned in Hong Kong, awaiting their sentences for allegedly trying to smuggle out some 342 kilos (754 pounds) of gold from the China-controlled island.

In addition to multiple gold barrels, during the arrest of Yoav Chen, Daniel Fadlon and Omer Gavish police found four five-carat diamonds in their possession. While the former two have owned up to the counts of smuggling last week in hope to reduce their sentences, Gavish pleaded innocence before the court of law.

The hearings ended last week, and now the three are awaiting their sentences, which are expected to be announced in a week or two. Maximum punishment for attempted smuggling in Hong Kong can reach life sentence and even capital punishment, although either is extremely unlikely in this case.

Hong Kong has abolished capital punishment in 1993; however some cases, including smugglers, are redirected to China, the world’s most prolific practitioner of execution, due to overload of the legal system.

“He’s a good boy, real ‘salt of the earth,’ he has nothing to be ashamed of,” Gavish’s mother Dalia, a resident of a kibbutz in northern Israel told Yedioth Ahronoth. “He’s just a pawn in the whole business. He worked in naval security after finishing his military service, he travelled a lot. Then someone offered him a job as a security guard in Hong Kong about a year ago. He went there and got himself mixed up in that unsavory affair.”

Dalia Gavish added she visited her son in prison, where he was in good health and optimistic regarding his acquittal.

The three Israelis were arrested after local authorities noticed the suspiciously high frequency of their comings and goings in and out of Hong Kong.

In the last few days rumors were afoot among the local Jewish community – which, standing at some 5,000 is the largest in Asia – that the three were smuggling more than just barrels of gold, namely both light and hard drugs.

“It sounds like a sad story of three good kids, salt of the earth, graduates of select combat units, which felt into a trap set by a drug baron,” a source in the community said Saturday.

“We are hoping for the sake of these kids and their families that the authorities let them return to Israel, though, based on past precedents, this system shows no mercy. We are hoping this story doesn’t stain the whole community, as many of the Jewish businesses here are based around diamonds.”

"Condolences" to the families of the dead Syrians stupid enough to think that Israel would tolerate their target practice. Best to take them out of the gene pool now .... and we did.

Point your guns elsewhere, Syrians. Rebels as well. Unless you, too, wish to meet a Tamuz, up close and personal. It will be the last thing you'll ever do.

Israeli sensors search for the S-300 in Syria

May 21, 2013

Israel may act to stop any attempt to transfer Russian-made S-300 surface-to-air missiles from Syria to Lebanon. Such a scenario is possible if the Assad regime in Syria feels it is losing control of the country in a future phase of its civil war.

According to reliable sources, at least one shipment of Russian-made S-300 missiles has been transferred to Syria.

Israeli sources say this act is a “game-changer” – especially as Syria is the middle of a bloody civil war.

Israeli sources said the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) may have to act on “developing” circumstances in Syria. The S-300 missiles would pose an immediate threat to Israeli air force (IAF) aircraft flying in the area.

The sources confirm that at present there are two possible scenarios – an attempt to hit an IAF aircraft flying over Lebanon, and the transfer of some of the S-300s to the Hezbollah terror organisation in Lebanon.

Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said on 16 May that his country plans to go ahead with its shipment of S-300 missiles to Syria.

He added that the deal had been sealed before recent air strikes on Syria reportedly carried out by Israel.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu travelled to Moscow last week to urge Russian president Vladimir Putin not to sell the state-of-the-art anti-aircraft missiles to Syria.

However, the long effort that culminated in the meeting of the two leaders failed.
The missile – one of the most advanced types used by the Russian army – can neutralise aircraft at a long distance with high precision, thanks to a sophisticated radar system combined with special sensors on the missile itself.

The S-300 missile, according to experts, is capable of overcoming part of the defence systems installed at present on board the IAF’s aircraft.

The system can simultaneously handle several targets, and launch missiles according to the perceived level of threat from each target.

The S-300 missile is 7 metres long and weighs 1.5t. It’s armed with a warhead weighing more than 70kg. The missile is effective at ranges up to 150km, at an altitude of up to 30km.

Foreign sources say the IAF is familiar with the capabilities of the S-300 – this after Israeli pilots flew simulated missions against batteries of the type, that are in use by some unidentified country.

One thing is clear – In addition to an unprecedented effort to get real-time intelligence about Syria’s chemical weapons, now Israeli sensors are pointing at the S-300s already in the country.

VATICAN CITY (CBSDC/AP) – Pope Francis has denounced the global financial system, blasting the “cult of money” that he says is tyrannizing the poor and turning humans into expendable consumer goods.

In his first major speech on the subject, Francis demanded Wednesday that financial and political leaders reform the global financial system to make it more ethical and concerned for the common good. He said: “Money has to serve, not to rule!”

It’s a message Francis delivered on many occasions when he was archbishop of Buenos Aires, and it’s one that was frequently stressed by retired Pope Benedict XVI.

Francis, who has made clear the poor are his priority, made the comments as he greeted his first group of new ambassadors accredited to the Holy See.

According to an April Pew Research Center study,  Pope Francis is viewed favorably by an overwhelming majority of U.S. Catholics. More than eight-in-ten (84 percent) say they have a favorable impression of the new pontiff, including 43 percent who express a very favorable view.

New Pope ADL and Jewish Approved

ADL “reassured” by nomination of Pope Francis I, citing Jewish connections; WJC: Bergoglio to strengthen Israel-Vatican ties.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) along with the World Jewish Congress (WJC) on Wednesday welcomed Cardinal Jorge María Bergoglio, the archbishop of Buenos Aires, on his election as Pope Francis I.

Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, said he was “reassured” over the record of the new Pope, stating that Bergoglio was crucial in maintaing “positive Catholic-Jewish relations.”

In a statement, ADL listed his celebration of Jewish holidays in Argentina, quoting Chanukah as an example of his commitment to his inter-faith relations.

“He lit a candle on the menorah, attended a Buenos Aires synagogue for Slichot, a pre-Rosh Hashana service, the Jewish New Year, as well as a commemoration of Kristallnacht, the wave of violent Nazi attacks against Jews before World War II,” Foxman said.

The ADL also cited his “dedication and support in standing up against extremism” in the new Pope’s response to the 1994 bombing on an Argentinian Jewish center.

Rabbi David Rosen, the director of interfaith affairs for the American Jewish Committee, told JTA that the new pope is a “warm and sweet and modest man” known in Buenos Aires for doing his own cooking and personally answering his phone. After the bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in 1994, he “showed solidarity with the Jewish community,” Rosen said.

In 2005, Bergoglio was the first public personality to sign a petition for justice in the AMIA bombing case. He also was one of the signatories on a document called “85 victims, 85 signatures” as part of the bombing’s 11th anniversary. In June 2010, he visited the rebuilt AMIA building to talk with Jewish leaders.

“Those who said Benedict was the last pope who would be a pope that lived through the Shoah, or that said there would not be another pope who had a personal connection to the Jewish people, they were wrong,” Rosen said.

Meanwhile, World Jewish Congress President Ronald Lauder congratulated Cardinal Jorge María Bergoglio, the archbishop of Buenos Aires, on his election as Pope Francis I on Wednesday.

“Pope Francis I is no stranger to us. In recent years he attended many inter-faith events co-organized by the WJC and our regional affiliate, the Latin American Jewish Congress,” he wrote, adding he had met him in Buenos Aires in 2008.

Lauder praised the new pope as “an experienced man, someone who is known for his open-mindedness…a man of dialogue, a man who is able to build bridges with other faiths”.

“We look forward to continuing the close relationship that has been fostered between the Catholic Church and the Jews over the past two decades.”

I got a feeling we're gonna be seeing more and more of Stein now that he was outed or was re-assigned as "outed." I wonder how he get's along with Brother Nathaneil?

Cole has to fielding a lot of honest requests. The Guardian comments were 50 % in favor of a Holo-hoax. Does that diminish tribal death threats?    No, Jews kill at a whim.  Thousands of years Devils Advocate vs. Humanity.

Not bad, but his premise is the Holocaust happened albeit no 6 M. That's not true.

He's still playing to the audience as Stein here...yada yada...but I saw La Hoax being played here was not all Jews were the same as all Jews are not atheists.  The goyim are easily  tripped up with that brand of....logic.

Being a commuted Jew at any level has to be a total mind fuck...then you add in the cultural scatology and being taught that non jews are less than human....It gets pretty obvious why most Jews are atheists.  G-d's Cosmic Jokes.

That was almost a fair presentation. Or the fairest I've ever seen. The Jews couldn't of been very happy with that show.

They didn't even cut off the Ukrainian guy at the 33 min mark who said Jews murdered 7 million of his people. Or the black guy who said most of the slave traders were Jews.

David's a pretty good writer.  Here's a good piece from his blog....

The Complete David Cole and Mark Weber on the Montel Williams Show

Emer O'Toole, Thursday 2 May 2013
Anne Frank, pictured in a 1942 photo, wrote honestly about the changes her body went through. Photograph: AP

Gail Horalek, the mother of a 7th-grade child in Michigan in the US, has made international headlines by complaining that the unabridged version of Anne Frank's diary is pornographic and should not be taught at her daughter's school. At issue for Horalek is a section detailing Anne's exploration of her own genitalia, material originally omitted by Anne's father, Otto Frank, when he prepared the manuscript for publication in the late 40s.

I had to look up what age kids are in the 7th grade. They're 12 to 13! They're only about a year younger than Anne was when she wrote of her vagina: "There are little folds of skin all over the place, you can hardly find it. The little hole underneath is so terribly small that I simply can't imagine how a man can get in there, let alone how a whole baby can get out!" There cannot be a 13-year-old girl on the planet who hasn't had a root around and arrived at this exact stage of bafflement. I mean, I was so distressed by my fanny's apparent minusculeness that I conducted a series of experiments with travel-size Body Shop shampoo bottles (too big) and hairbrush handles (still too big). I eventually came to the conclusion that, in the presence of an actual penis, some pheromonal reaction would kick in and my vagina would magically expand like a lotus blossom (an illusion of which, sadly, experience deflowered me).

Horalek, predictably, has been laughed out of town. Even commenters on the conservative Fox Detroit Facebook page, where the story "broke" last week, are disparaging. They say things like: "lmao ppl get mad about the stupidest shyt its history … maybe we should let our kids really know what happened at thanksgiving to", which, I think you'll agree, is an ideologically impressive, if grammatically troubling, observation. And so it's easy to dismiss the Horalek affair as just another mad utterance by a wacko zealot, who no one even agrees with, being whipped up into a media story so that the internet's eternal feedback loop has something to recycle. However, I think there's something slightly deeper going on.

Horalek is, of course, wrong to call the passages pornographic. Pornography is material intended to arouse sexual excitement, and I very much doubt that was Anne's intention when she wrote to her imaginary confidant Kitty about her journeys of self-discovery. But the reason Horalek gives for complaining in the first place is that the passages made her daughter uncomfortable. I can well believe this. I can imagine that if, age 13, I had been asked to read or discuss the passages in class, I would have felt deeply uncomfortable (my own nocturnal explorations notwithstanding).

Anne is going through puberty, and she describes her changed vagina in honest detail, saying, "until I was 11 or 12, I didn't realise there was a second set of labia on the inside, since you couldn't see them. What's even funnier is that I thought urine came out of the clitoris." (Oh Anne, we've all been there.) She continues: "In the upper part, between the outer labia, there's a fold of skin that, on second thought, looks like a kind of blister. That's the clitoris." It's beautiful, visceral writing, and it's describing something that most young women experience.

And yet I can understand that the junior Ms Horalek would have squirmed and wished herself elsewhere when this was read in class. We live in a society in which young women are taught to be ashamed of the changes that their bodies undergo at puberty – to be secretive about them, and even to pretend that they don't exist. Breasts, the minute they bud, are strapped into harnesses, and the nipples disguised from view. Period paraphernalia must be discreet, with advertisers routinely boasting that their tampons look enough like sweets to circumvent the social horror of discovery.

For my generation, removal of post-pubescent hair on the legs and underarms was mandatory. For Ms Horalek's generation, it is mandatory for pubic hair too. Anne writes: "When you're standing up, all you see from the front is hair. Between your legs there are two soft, cushiony things, also covered with hair, which press together when you're standing, so you can't see what's inside." How must reading this feel for pubescent girls who've already internalised the message that they must spend the rest of their lives maintaining the illusion that their body hair doesn't exist.

This media event should do more than teach us that there are laughably prudish parents out there. It should encourage us to reflect on why, when confronted with the reality of the female body and female sexuality, girls can be made to feel uncomfortable.

Dealing with this discomfort only involves censoring Anne Frank's diary if you're quite, quite odd. For the rest of us, the answer might be a little more free-flowing boob, some brazen Mooncup sterilisation, hairy legs sprinting through the summer grasses and, to use a pun that is intended as the highest compliment, Frankness about masturbation, sexuality and our bodies. Because it isn't just the Horaleks of this world who teach girls to be shameful rather than celebratory.

Seems semi-Jew Hollywood folks with FU money are getting a little more carefree.  DeNiro has his Brando moment on Twitter.

He's ready to do another interview as himself....apparently the Holocaust industry is so far in the red that death threats are too expensive.

Republican Party Animals operator David Stein says he is really David Cole, and that he still holds controversial views

Rory Carroll in Los Angeles, Friday 3 May 2013

To those who knew him, or thought they knew him, he was a cerebral, fun-loving gadfly who hosted boozy gatherings for Hollywood's political conservatives. David Stein brought right-wing congressmen, celebrities, writers and entertainment industry figures together for shindigs, closed to outsiders, where they could scorn liberals and proclaim their true beliefs.

Over the past five years Stein's organisation, Republican Party Animals, drew hundreds to regular events in and around Los Angeles, making him a darling of conservative blogs and talkshows. That he made respected documentaries on the Holocaust added intellectual cachet and Jewish support to Stein's cocktail of politics, irreverence and rock and roll.

There was just one problem. Stein was not who he claimed. His real name can be revealed for the first time publicly – a close circle of confidants only found out the truth recently – as David Cole. And under that name he was once a reviled Holocaust revisionist who questioned the existence of Nazi gas chambers. He changed identities in January 1998.

"That was when David Cole officially expired," he told the Guardian in an interview this week. "That was the end of Cole. Or so I thought. That was when David Stein was brought into this world.

For 15 years I have been David Stein. Now the genie is out of the bottle. I'm done. I'm finished. I'm not going to try to remain as David Stein.

Cole's brazen reinvention as a social networker and political pundit deceived a roll-call of conservative politicians, filmmakers, journalists and broadcasters who had no clue about his past. A falling out with a friend led to his unmasking in his social circle two weeks ago, when a group of former supporters was shown YouTube clips of Cole's incendiary – and until then forgotten – television appearances in the early 1990s.

As a combative twentysomething with tousled black hair, he was a vilified guest on chat shows hosted by Phil Donahue, Montel Williams and Morton Downey, among others, and was depicted as a neo-Nazi on news shows such as 60 Minutes and 48 Hours.

"My friends are horrified," said Cole, now aged 44 and with greying hair. "They rang and emailed to ask if it really was me. The Hollywood types are the ones hurting the most right now because they could be harmed by this. I'm feeling a certain amount of guilt."

The unmasking shocked and angered the small, tight-knit community of Hollywood conservatives, setting their Facebook groups ablaze and prompting emergency meetings.

Some of Stein/Cole's erstwhile friends are media figures with blogs, newspaper columns and syndicated radio shows. They put a lid on the story. Not a word has been published or broadcast. "When people found out it was, 'Oh my God, get the fuck away from him.' There was debate about whether everyone would look guilty by association," said one entertainment industry artist, a member of Republican Party Animals, who requested anonymity. "The reason we were all so pissed at him is it plays into every horrible stereotype about the right."

Cole, and the half-dozen former friends and acquaintances interviewed for this article, stress that no one suspected his secret and that no one should be tarred with his views.

An additional reason for trying to contain the story, said the artist, was to deprive Cole of further limelight. "No one wants to give him the satisfaction of making him feel grander than he really was."

Cole, who insists he is a genuine conservative, said his betrayal would sting all the more because conservatives in Hollywood are a "persecuted minority" who must hide their political convictions from the intolerant liberals who dominate the industry:

I don't blame them for jettisoning me. Everyone is scared to death. They don't want this to range beyond Facebook.

Cole agreed to meet the Guardian in order to give his side of the story. He was rueful at being outed and wry about his future. "I don't expect many people at my birthday party this year," he said.

Born in 1968 in Los Angeles to liberal, secular-minded Jewish parents, Cole's father, Leon, was a doctor who became controversial for introducing Elvis Presley to Demerol. "He was accused of hooking Elvis on drugs, of killing Elvis." Cole did not go to university – "I wanted to begin working" – but by the 1980s he had become fascinated by political ideology, especially the work of fringe scholars known then as Holocaust revisionists, subsequently renamed denialists.

He became convinced that on some points they were right and that as a Jew, he would undertake a quixotic quest to "correct" the historical record, arguing that Auschwitz was not an extermination camp in the manner of Treblinka, Sobibor, Belzac and Chelmno – which he acknowledged were part of a genocidal programme against Polish Jews; that the Holocaust ended in 1943, when the Nazis realised they needed Jewish slave labour for factories; and that there was no overarching, genocidal plan, but an evolving, morphing policy which claimed perhaps 4 million, rather than 6 million, Jewish lives.

The young Cole became a notorious celebrity, the turncoat Jew, ferried from studio to studio, gleefully clashing with historians and Jewish representatives. However he grew uneasy when white supremacists and Islamic radicals appropriated his "work", he said, and he halted public appearances after the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995.

Another factor was a death threat from the Jewish Defense League, a militant, violent group. In January 1998, wanting to start anew, Cole wrote a letter to the JDL, recanting his views.

The threat was lifted. Cole, his credibility shredded on all sides, adopted the name Stein, chosen because it was simple and short, he said. Only a few close friends knew the secret.
'I haven't changed my views'

The recanting was fake, he said. Cole today still challenges established Holocaust scholarship, including the certainty about Nazi gas chambers. "The best guess is yes, there were gas chambers" he says. "But there is still a lot of murkiness about the camps. I haven't changed my views. But I regret I didn't have the facility with language that I have now. I was just a kid," he said this week.

As Stein, however, he shielded his views, not least during the next stage of his career odyssey: the maker of respectable, conventional Holocaust documentaries. He knew the subject, needed an income and US schools and universities had budgets to commission such projects. He said: "I gave mainstream audiences what they wanted."

At the same time, he started writing op-eds under Stein and other pseudonyms, expressing what he said was his growing fervour for a hawkish foreign policy, a strong Israel and conservative social policy. Posts on his acerbic blog were picked up by mainstream news outlets.

When Barack Obama was elected president in 2008, Cole sensed opportunity. Inspired by the writer PJ O'Rourke's brand of rollicking, liquor-fuelled conservativism, he said he launched Republican Party Animals, a networking circle for libertarians and social conservatives which promised spice – "scantily-clad women, drink, fun, loud music" – but not too much. There would be no cocaine or illegality.

"Do you like your conservative politics mixed with a healthy dose of whiskey, fine cigars and kickass rock n' roll?" its website asked. "Do you live in a city filled with morons wearing Che T-shirts as they mindlessly cling to tattered, faded 2008 'Hope and Change' posters? Then WELCOME, friend – this is the group for you!" Blog posts assailed Obama, Occupy protestors and alleged anti-semites.

It was a hit. Congressmen such as Thaddeus McCotter and Mike Kelly attended events, as did neo-con luminaries such as Frank Gaffney.

A 2011 summer bash off Hollywood Boulevard included Larry Elder, a syndicated radio host; Bill Whittle, a commentator and screenwriter; Stephen Kruiser, a comedian; Lloyd Lee Barnett, a visual effects artist for Avatar; Nick Searcy, an actor; and William Sachs, a director. Other Hollywood guests kept their attendance at such events discreet, to avoid the conservative label.

Cole's mistake, he said, was to confide his secret to a friend with whom he fell out. The friend went "nuclear" and outed him to their conservative circle.

Besieged by followers demanding answers, Cole last week shut down much of his online presence and retreated from view. A farewell note on his blog announced the end of his involvement with Republican Party Animals, saying he had been "assassinated" by "an exceptionally vindictive young lady". The note did not elaborate or confess his deception.

Former friends and acquaintances, most speaking on condition of anonymity, challenged elements of Cole's account to the Guardian and called him pathologically duplicitous, alleging he padded his film resume on the IMDb database with fictitious entries. His purported production company, Nistarim, is Hebrew for The Concealed.

Scott Edwards, an Oregon-based businessman, said he founded Republican Party Animals in 2009 and that Cole, claiming to be a Hollywood bigshot, took over the website and was involved in organising just a few events. "He never ran the group. Things started happening behind the scenes so I kicked him out in February 2012." Cole, however, continued controlling the website, networking and organising events under the Republican Party Animals banner until last month.

Holocaust experts and Jewish groups who remembered Cole from the 1990s expressed astonishment that he had resurfaced and still professed Holocaust revisionism.

Michael Shermer, a historian who publishes Skeptic magazine, said Cole's views on the the Holocaust were simplistic and appeared designed to stir controversy.

Shermer debated and interviewed Cole several times in his youth. "I found him to be very smart and on some level likeable, though a little irritating.

But he was too smart for his own good. He had no training as a historian. I had the impression he liked to stir things up just for the hell of it, to be a contrarian for contrarian's sake.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, said Cole's views on the Holocaust could no longer be attributed to youthful naivete. "I'm very disappointed that someone who abused his Jewishness to get his five minutes of notoriety still stands by his lies. It's disgusting and puts him in the camp of bigotry."

Time for the Arab nations to pull all their arms together and finally be the aggressors against the Jew paper tiger.

Boston Bombings: Police Fired At By Other Police, Not Suspects

Wednesday, May 1, 2013 13:11

(Before It's News)

The police involved the manhunt for the alleged Boston Bombers are now under investigation for unprovoked shootings at other officers which until now have been blamed on the alleged bombing suspects.

For those who listened to the live radio transcripts this is just one of numerous scandals that occurred.

Some provocateur announced over the radio that the suspects had stolen a black State Police SUV which never happened.

Shortly after police officers on the ground spotted an black SUV matching the description and just opened fire on the SUV without provocation.

Inside the SUV was a Boston police officer and a State Trooper, both on patrol in plain clothes who luckily were not wounded.

Israeli Doctor Says Bombing Suspect May Never Speak Again

The title appears to be a misprint. I think it meant to say: Israeli doctor assures everyone that the bombing suspect will never speak about certain things ever again.

What Does Tsarnaev Think About Having an Israeli Doctor?

I find it fitting and just that Tsarnaev will live his life, knowing that it was Jews that saved his life.

Suspected Boston Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where an Israeli doctor and the director of the hospital, Dr. Ilan Tabb and his staff are responsible for doing all they can to save the life of a man accused of murdering four and injuring close to 200. (See here for the story). Dr.Tabb said:

“Unfortunately, I have had a lot of experience with these types of injuries after years of treating people injured in terror attacks in Israel. We have a few Israeli doctors in the emergency room, and the director of the ER is also Israeli. But most of the physicians at the hospital are not Israeli, and they functioned exceptionally well.”

“It was very similar to what I was used to in Israel in that we had to admit many injured people in a short period of time

“The fact that we are treating both the victims and the suspected terrorist also reminds me of similar situations in Israel. In Israel we had an injured soldier and a terrorist lying on adjacent beds. When an injured person is admitted to the ER, the doctor or nurse treats him without asking questions.”

Having met many Israeli doctors, I can tell you that I understand their training. I know that they are asked and expected to treat everyone evenly. I know that many doctors have been challenged with saving the life of someone who has maliciously taken the lives of others. More times than you can imagine, the terrorist is evacuated with the wounded – and in some cases, given priority in treatment because the doctors treat based on severity of wounds, not on nationality. All efforts will be made to disarm the terrorist – any and all force is acceptable… until the terrorist is disarmed and then, in the eyes of the doctor, even the most horrible of human beings becomes a responsibility, an obligation.

There have been several really dumb comparisons made – especially one by John Kerry related to the Boston bombers. When I was reading about the Israeli doctors treating the terrorist, I remembered a passage I had once read about the Eichmann trial.

I wonder what Dzhokhar Tsarnaev would say about his doctors being Israelis. I doubt he could possibly understand the humanity behind the actions of the Israeli doctors. Tsarnaev won’t understand as Eichmann did not. I found the passage I remembered, it was spoken during a discussion between then Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and the Director of the Mossad Isser Harel. The conversation was recorded and classified and only recently released.

In the discussion, people asked Harel about the time right after Eichmann was captured. Eichmann came from a culture that believed in death, as apparently Tsarnaev did. Neither would expect decency from their enemies, from those they had perceived as weak. I find it fitting that Eichmann was fairly tried in Israel, convicted and punished according to the law. I find it fitting and just that Tsarnaev will live his life, knowing that it was Jews that saved his life.

Harel told Ben Gurion and others…

He doesn’t understand our behavior, he thought that we would beat him and treat him cruelly. We are treating him in keeping with the laws of the State of Israel, from the day the arrest order for him was issued and given to the Justice Ministry he is being treated according to the law.

When the anger burns within you, it is easier to lose sight of the law, of what is just and what is right. There is justice in Eichmann not being executed in Argentina; of his being brought back to Israel to see what we have built here and to know that it is by our law, by our justice that he was sentenced to death. For the record, Israel has only executed one person in all of its 65 years of independence. One man.

There will be justice for  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev because, like Israel, America will rise above the anger to do what is right, what is just. It is in the anger we overcome that we prove our humanity.

There are those who will wish Tsarnaev had died rather than been captured but death is glory to the Islam that Tsarnaev says he and his brother were defending. The glory comes from becoming a martyr and as he survived, that martyrdom will be denied to this brother at least.

He will rot in jail – no glory, no honor. That is justice, the ultimate and true punishment.

The New “Nazis” of Spain

On Saturday, Popular Party Secretary-General María Dolores de Cospedal, number two of the governing party in Spain, said that she knew she was going to get criticized, “but this is pure Nazism.” On Sunday, rather than resigning, she repeated it. For more precision, she added that going to someone’s house to “harass” him “is a totalitarian attitude comparable to what occurred in the thirties in a European country.” A reference to Nazis marking the homes of Jews.

But these “Nazis” are folks who are standing up to the banks and draconian mortgage laws that the government is hell-bent on protecting. And they have a special word for their action: escrache. It had become popular in Argentina in 1995 after President Carlos Menem pardoned collaborators of the Junta. Activists with banners would gather in front of the home or office of a pardoned perpetrator. They’d chant and play music to let neighbors know. While Junta members were beyond the law, they could still be publicly humiliated.

In Spain, escraches were sparked by the implosion of the housing bubble and the coincident rise in unemployment: people fell behind on their mortgages and got evicted from their homes. But unlike in the US, Spanish homeowners borrow under a draconian law where the bank, after the eviction, saddles ex-homeowners with the debt for life.

The law allows the bank to credit the mortgage with only 50% – since 2011 with 60% – of the value of the home, writes Yaiza Hernández in her exposé on escraches. After fees and sky-high default interest, the debt that the ex-homeowner owes is often as high as the original mortgage amount. The law was designed to protect the same banks that ate up subsidies, falsified their books, engaged in dubious transactions, collapsed, and were bailed out with tens of billions of euros.

In 2008, the anger against the banks gave rise to the movement Platform for Mortgage Victims (PAH). It soon established a network throughout Spain. When eviction notices were issued, activists would show up to impede the eviction through their physical presence. In 2010, PAH was one of the groups behind a Popular Legislative Initiative (ILP) to change the mortgage law so that banks would have to cancel the debt after foreclosing on the home – a non-recourse mortgage. They collected 1.5 million signatures, enough to present it to parliament. And in February, 90% of the population agreed that foreclosure should cancel the mortgage.

But the PP government, in its truly democratic manner – it’s already embroiled in A Vast Political Espionage Scandal To Top Off The Sordid Corruption Scandal – didn’t allow the motion to proceed to parliament, despite the outcry it caused. Frustrations rose to the boiling point. Hence escraches.

The PAH started targeting PP Members of Parliament who were blocking the ILP. Activists would gather in front of their homes or offices, chant, and hold up their slogan, written on a pair of round signs: “yes we can,” on the green one, “but they don’t want to,” on the red one (photo). An escrache, according to the guidelines (PDF), is an “informative action” without verbal or physical aggression.

On March 14, the government got slapped in the face by the European Court of Justice which ruled against Spain’s mortgage laws. The government said it would incorporate the ruling into a new law. While evictions continued, Parliament was watering down the reform bill, and the police tried to criminalize the movement and arrest participants. On April 5, at the escrache in front of the house of Vice President Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, the police picked out 30 people. The three ringleaders were fined €1,500 each, 15 others were fined €200 to €250.

When discussing escraches, the PP throws around the words “violence” and “harassment.” Government delegate Cristina Cifuentes called PAH spokesperson Ada Colau and her colleagues “terrorists.” Without consequences. But police efforts to keep activists 300 meters away from the politician’s house was dealt a setback on Tuesday when a court ruled that it was “overreach” – though it allowed some “proportionate” limitations.

But it has a partisan hue. PP MP Celso Delgado, when he found out his house would be targeted, rushed home and ended up discussing the issue of evictions with the activists – not that it changed his or their minds. Non-recourse mortgages “cannot be” he told the press later. “They asked me to break with party discipline,” and vote for the reform initiative. “I said no.” Then he added that it was “noteworthy that in 2011, with the Socialists in power, there were more evictions than in 2012, with the PP in government. And curiously nobody went to protest outside people’s homes then.”

So far, escraches have only targeted PP politicians. Madrid Mayor Ana Botella, member of the PP, hammered it home: in 2011, under Socialist President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, there were 77,000 evictions in Spain but she has not been heard of any cases of the type of “harassment” that PP politicians have to suffer, she said.

Escraches may be disturbing. Politicians may feel uncomfortable when the weak try to get their point across. And the PAH may protect the left. Yet the reform of the mortgage law is one of the most popular issues and cuts across party lines. Hell-bent on protecting the banks, the PP, steeped in an absurd level of corruption, lashes out viciously and demonizes the activists – with dark overtones. So Cospedal, after equating escraches with “pure Nazism,” issued an ominous warning: “If one day we have something serious to regret, we must look to those responsible for causing the violence.”

Catalonia’s riot police unleashed the untamed fury of the state upon the protestors and cleared Barcelona’s Plaza Catalunya of all occupants. A dense ring of shell-shocked people gathered around the square. I was one of them. A child riding on his father’s shoulders held up a sign: No soy anti sistema, el sistema es anti yo, it said (I’m not anti-system; the system is anti-me). So writes Don Quijones. Read the rest... Israeli police head to US to aid in Boston Marathon bombing investigation

The investigation into Monday’s deadly bombing at the Boston Marathon has officially gone international: law enforcement officials from Israel have been sent to the United States to assist in the probe.

Israel Police Chief Yohanan Danino says he has dispatched officials to Boston, Massachusetts, where they will meet with Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and other authorities, the Times of Israel Reports.

Citing an earlier report published by the newspaper Maariv, Times of Israel writes that Danino has dispatched police officers to participate in discussions that “will center on the Boston Marathon bombings and deepening professional cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of both countries.”

The paper reports that Israeli law enforcement planned the trip before the deadly pair of bombings on Monday that has so far claimed three lives, but the discussions will now shift focus in order to see how help from abroad can expand the investigation.

In an address made Tuesday, Israel President Shimon Peres said that tragedies such as this week’s incident in Boston, sadly, bring people together from across the world.

“When it comes to events like this, all of us are one family. We feel a part of the people who paid such a high price. God bless them,” Peres said. “Today the real problem is terror, and terror is not an extension of policy: Their policy is terror, their policy is to threaten. Terrorists divide people, they kill innocent people.”

Around 20 hours after two bombs detonated near the finish line of the annual race, United States President Barack Obama went on record to condemn the tragedy as a terrorist attack.

“This was a heinous and cowardly act,” said Obama from the White House, “and given what we now know the FBI is investigating it as an act of terrorism.”

(JTA) -- Spanish Jews accused politicians in Galicia of blocking a resolution for commemorating the Holocaust because they oppose Israel.

The speakers of the leftist AGE party and the nationalist BNG party in the parliament of Galicia -- an autonomous region in northern Spain -- vetoed a draft resolution commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, preventing it from going to a vote, according to the Federation of Jewish Communities (FCJE) in Spain.

“Similar resolutions had passed since 2010, but this time representatives of AGE refused to OK the draft resolution in the Council of Spokespersons ahead of a plenum vote,” Pedro Gomez-Valades, president of the Galician Association for Friendship with Israel, told JTA. His association has issued a joint statement with FCJE, which is the umbrella group representing Spanish Jewish communities, in condemning the veto.

Before they reach the plenum, draft resolutions must be approved by the Galician parliament’s Council of Speakers. But representatives of BNG and AGE to the Council have resisted approving a draft resolution on the Holocaust since January, according to Pedro Gomez-Valades, president of the Galician Association for Friendship. The press departments of AGE and BNG did not respond to JTA’s request for comment.

Gomez-Valades told JTA he decided to make the matter public because weeks of talks have failed to change the positions of the representatives of the two parties. During these talks, party officials said they viewed Holocaust commemoration as part of Israeli propaganda, Gomez-Valades said. His organization and the FCJE umbrella group condemned the two parties in a joint statement earlier this month.

Resolutions commemorating the victims of the Holocaust were passed in the Galician parliament in 2010, 2011 and 2012 in time for International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Jan. 27. This year, there was no such resolution.
