TEHRAN (FNA)- Many defected officers and soldiers of the Syrian army have and are returning to their previous jobs after President Bashar Al-Assad granted general amnesty.

In late October, Syrian President Assad granted a general amnesty, covering crimes committed before October 29. The new presidential pardon covers crimes mentioned in the military service law, including those of fleeing from the mandatory service.

FNA Bureau in Damascus reported that thousands of defected army officers who had joined the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have now returned to the Syrian army.

The fresh move came as preparations for the Geneva II conference on Syria which seeks to find a political solution to the long-standing conflict in the country are underway.

Also in the last 24 hours, the Washington Post disclosed that the Al-Qaeda militants have recruited underage children for the war in the Muslim country.

Elsewhere, a Suicide bomber blew up himself in a mosque in Deir Ezzur in Eastern Syria which is close to Syrian army’s security zone.

Along the borders, at least four Lebanese people were wounded after six rockets hit Harmel region in Northern Lebanon.

Also, the Al-Qaeda-linked terrorists beheaded over a dozen civilians in Adra al-Amalieh in Damascus countryside in Southern Syria on Tuesday.

Meantime, FNA dispatches said the militants of the Islamic Front and the Al-Nusra Front cut off the heads of 14 unarmed residents of Adra al-Amalieh whom they had abducted in previous days.

Also on Tuesday, the Syrian army pushed back the armed rebels from different towns and villages in Reef (countryside of) Idlib in Northwestern Syria.

The army units targeted and destroyed several gathering centers of the militants in Al-Janudiyeh, Joftalk, Haj Hamud Farm in Jasr al-Shaghour in the countryside of Idlib.

The Syrian army also destroyed the armed rebels’ concentration points in Kafr Late and Kafr Shalaya villages in Ariha countryside.

Meantime, the army destroyed the militants’ gathering centers in the Southern parts of Maarat al-Numaan city located on a highway between Aleppo and Hama.

Syrian Official: Turkey Responsible for Adra Massacre

Wed Dec 18, 2013 12:52
source: http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.aspx?nn=13920927000725

TEHRAN (FNA)- A Syrian information official blamed the US and its regional allies, especially Turkey, for the massacre of the people in Adra where militants have slaughtered tens of civilians.

Head of Syria’s Information Ministry’s Center for Studies and Research Maladh Maqdad told Al Alam on Tuesday that Turkey is responsible for killing of Syrian people in Adra at the hands of militants who entered Syria’s soil by support of Turkey and received weapons through Turkish borders.

Al-Nusra Front militants, Al-Qaeda’s main branch in Syria war, attacked Adra in the Reef Damascus governorate last week and started executing civilians, some of them family by family.

It is not clear how many people have been killed in the town since access has been limited but some media reports indicate more than 80 people have been killed while the number is feared to be much higher.

Terrified survivors of the attack have been describing horrible atrocities carried out by the extremist in Adra.

Since the start of the war in Syria, the United States has shown that it is the leader of a coalition which is fighting against Syria, by managing its allies in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey and by the diplomatic and media coverage it has been giving in support of the war, Maqdad said.

"It was the united states that established the ‘free Syrian army’ and provided logistic and military support for it, and prevented the rebels to cooperate with (Syrian President) Bashar al-Assad when he proposed them to put down their arms and get amnesty and sit for talks," he added.

The Syrian official said, Turkish government is acting under US supervision and is trying to overthrow the Syrian government and destroy Syria through sending arms for the militants with the help of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

He further noted that Ankara is facing criticism for its policies toward the crisis in Syria from parliament and people.

A new UN report said Turkey transferred more than 47 tons of arsenals to Syria militants.

The crisis in Syria started in March 2011, when pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

According to the United Nations, more than 120,000 people have been killed and millions displaced due to the turmoil that has gripped Syria for over two years.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Ifthekar Jaman, a celebrity jihadist from Portsmouth who acted as an Al-Qaeda-linked group's chef, was killed in Syria.

Ifthekar Jaman, 23, died while taking part in an assault on a major arms depot with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the most brutal Al-Qaeda splinter group fighting in Syria's civil war, the Telegraph reported.

A second Briton fighting alongside him who went by the nom de guerre Abu Qaqa was also reported by state media to have been killed, though this was not confirmed by jihadi forums.

Jaman had become a jihadi celebrity for his online advice and encouragement to fellow British Muslims seeking to come to Syria, including women who he urged to come to marry men back from the front lines.

He was known to his brigade as "Abu Aburahman" and was particularly valued as the battalion chef.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Various terrorist and extremist groups in Syria have set up camps to train very young boys how to carry weapons.

US journalist Joby Warrick in a report from Syria said that young boys being trained at camps affiliated to the "Islam State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, or ISIS)".

In his report under the title "Extremist Syrian faction touts training camp for boys", Warrick said that hooded recruits in camouflage shoot at targets or march in formation under the black flag of the ISIL, adding that all of the trainees are young boys.

Warrick in his report mentioned that "the fighters appear quite small. The tallest are barely chest-high to their instructors, and the shorter ones wear ill-fitting uniforms and appear to struggle under the weight of their weapons. A photo of the recruits without their hoods confirms that all of them are young boys.

They are “Zarqawi’s Cubs,” the youth brigade of Syria’s most fearsome Islamist rebel group and one of the newest manifestations of al-Qaeda’s deepening roots in rebel-controlled sections of the country. Building on earlier efforts to expand their influence in Syrian schools, radical Islamists appear to be stepping up efforts to indoctrinate and train children, some as young as 10, according to independent experts who have studied the phenomenon.

Last month, The Syrian Ministry of Expatriates and Foreign Affairs sent two messages to the Secretary-General of the UN and Chairman of the UN Security Council, saying that children are being exposed to many types of crimes at the hands of the armed terrorist groups, including recruiting, abducting and killing them. The Ministry added that the terrorists are also occupying schools and using them as torturing centers.

Militants from 70 Countries Fighting in Syria

Wed Dec 18, 2013 6:51
source: http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.aspx?nn=13920927001327

TEHRAN (FNA)- The number of foreign militants fighting in Syria may be up to 11,000 from 70 nations, most of them fighting for al-Qaeda, a report said.

"We estimate that - from late 2011 to 10 December 2013 - between 3,300 and 11,000 individuals have gone to Syria to fight against the Assad government," said the International Centre for the Study of Radicalization (ICSR), a partnership of five universities based at King's College London.

The ICSR said those sources indicated that most had fought for the al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, two main branches of al-Qaeda in Syria.

The study center said it used 1,500 sources, including media reports, government estimates, statements by the militants and social media to collect the data.

The report showed that Arabs and Europeans made up the bulk of foreign fighters, with up to 80 per cent, but militants from Southeast Asia, North America, Africa, the Balkans and countries of the former Soviet Union were also represented.

Western Europeans, with the largest contingents from France and Britain, represent up to 18 per cent of the foreign fighters in Syria, it said. Up to 70 percent were from the Middle East.

However the report contradicts the earlier reports conducted by American and European research centers and gives far less numbers.

A report by the American Pentapolis Agency of statistics in September showed at least 130,000 non-Syrian militants were fighting in Syria.

On November 5th, Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad announced that according to their findings, Turkey has let militants from 83 countries to enter Syria to topple the government.

The war in Syria started in March 2011, when pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of Western and regional states.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

TEHRAN (FNA)- On the eve of the Geneva II Conference, the American organizers of the Free Syrian Army no longer have any puppets to play the role of revolutionaries, and this has made them seek another alternative, Voltairenet said.

Thierry Meyssan wrote in an article on Voltairenet that it is now obvious to everyone that there never happened any popular revolution in Syria, and the fiction of Free Syrian Army is over.

Referring to the formation of this puppet group he said that in November 2011 the Free Syrian Army announced its existence as the military wing of the Syrian National Council, both created and supported by the NATO.

“Indeed, the Free Syrian Army, which a few weeks ago we were told included 40,000 men, has disappeared. After its headquarters was attacked by mercenaries and arsenals were looted, its historic leader, General Salim Idriss, fled through Turkey and found refuge in Qatar,” Meyssan said.

He also added that from the beginning, the political identity of this group wasn’t clear and their flag also was that of French colonization.

“In reality, the Free Syrian Army is a Franco-British creation as were the "Benghazi revolutionaries" in Libya (who had "chosen" the flag of King Idris I, collaborator of the English occupants).”

He also said that in recent weeks the group truly felt that as the consequence of rapprochement of Iran and Turkey, the end of war is near and immediatly announced its readiness for participation in the Geneva II conference by demanding unrealistic conditions.

“But it was already too late. Mercenaries paid by Saudi Arabia set this NATO fiction straight. Everyone can now see the naked truth that there has never been a revolution in Syria,” he said.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Syria's armed rebels fired multiple mortar shells on a church in Syria's Southern province of Daraa, killing 12 people and injuring many others.

The shells landed at the old Church in Daraa while the Church volunteers were distributing charity aid to locals, Al-Ekhbarieh TV reported.

The incident came as the Syrian Christians, who make up 10 percent in the country's population, have felt the pain of the protracted crisis, as their population has been subject to attacks by the radical rebels. The latest incident took place earlier this month, when radical jihadists fully controlled Syria's Christian town of Maaloula, North of the capital Damascus.

Gregory III Laham, Patriarch of the Church of Antioch and all East, told Xinhua in an interview that Syria's long-term crisis has displaced more than 450,000 Christian Syrians and killed more than a thousand of them.

Earlier on Saturday, five people were killed in a mortar attack against the Hamadanyeh district of the Northern province of Aleppo, according to the mainstream media.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Israelis hospitals have admitted hundreds of injured Syrian militants for treatment, news sources disclosed.

Israeli hospitals have been admitting and treating the Syrian armed rebels for the past several months, Israeli media reported.

The news has been leaked by the Israeli media despite Tel Aviv’s security instructions and boycott of the media.

Also in the last 24 hours, media sources disclosed that Saudi Arabia plans to send several arms shipments to help Takfiri militants in their war against the Syrian government.

Elsewhere, the Syrian army repelled an attack staged by the terrorists to capture Al-Va’ar town in Homs in Western Syria.

Also, the army killed an Egyptian ringleader of an Al-Qaeda terrorist group in Eastern Syria.

Meantime, informed sources said militant groups withdrew from the strategic region of Jabal Al-Arbaeen in Idlib countryside in Northwestern Syria after they were pinned down by the Damascus army for over a day.

“The militants have been withdrawing from this region (Jabal Al-Arbaeen) to escape the heavy artillery attacks of the Syrian army,” an informed Syrian security source told FNA yesterday morning.

The source underlined that the armed rebel groups stationed in Jabalal-Arbaeen could not conduct any military operation against the Syrian army without the outside support of the militants of other areas and they have been completely paralyzed.

Syria's Popular Forces Repel FSA Attack on Swaida Countryside

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian National Defense Forces repelled an attack by the Free Syrian Army (FSA) on Swaida countryside in Southern Syria on Sunday.

The national defense forces clashed with the FSA militants in Ara village in Swaida countryside.

The clashes took place when several armed rebel groups tried to seal off the road leading to Ara village.

Swaida is regarded a safe province of Syria, but the Eastern countryside of the province due to its geographical location and its closeness to Daraa province has been the scene of numerous attacks by the militants who seek to penetrate Swaida from Daraa.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed terrorists and militants against the Syrian army and civilians across the country.

Thousands of people have been killed since terrorist and armed groups turned protest rallies into armed clashes.

The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.

In October 2011, calm was almost restored in most parts of the Arab state after President Assad started a reform initiative in the country, but Israel, the US and its Arab allies brought the country into chaos through every possible means. Tel Aviv, Washington and some Arab capitals have been staging various plots in the hope of increasing unrests in Syria.

The US daily, Washington Post, reported in May, 2012 that the Syrian rebels and terrorist groups battling Assad's government have received significantly more and better weapons in recent weeks, a crime paid for by the Persian Gulf Arab states and coordinated by the United States.

The newspaper, quoting opposition activists and US and foreign officials, reported that Obama administration officials emphasized the administration has expanded contacts with opposition military forces to provide the Persian Gulf nations with assessments of rebel credibility and command-and-control infrastructure.

According to the report, material was being stockpiled in Damascus, in Idlib near the Turkish border and in Zabadani on the Lebanese border.

Opposition activists who several months ago said the rebels were running out of ammunition said in May that the flow of weapons - most bought on the black market in neighboring countries or from elements of the Syrian military in the past - has significantly increased after a decision by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Persian Gulf states to provide millions of dollars in funding each month.
