BEIRUT - Bombs tore through two commuter buses in a mainly Christian area of Lebanon on Tuesday, a day before the second anniversary of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri`s assassination. At least three people were killed and 20 wounded in the coordinated attack, the state-run news agency said.

A senior politician speculated that the blasts were meant to scare people away from a mass rally to commemorate Hariri, a gathering that has heightened sectarian tensions in Lebanon.

There were no plans to cancel the rally, organizers said. Senior government, military and security officials were scheduled to meet later Tuesday to discuss how to keep Wednesday`s protest from turning violent.

I understand that some of 'youse guys' had to get busy bumping this out of sight on "Latest Posts" - after all, it is just a dangerous, dirty, ongoing operation instead of an innocuous obsession over someone's sister's husband's analyst's daughter's dog's psychosis... 'youse guys' never disappoint. I set my watch by it...

Update: the bananas 'only' killed three...

Thanks for anonymousing the link - no porn advertisement, imagine that. ;D

You weren't kidding about the monkeys and bananas! :D

I believe Nabil Nekoula said it right, "This is an act to undermine Lebanon, so that we might end up like Iraq, with strife and people leaving their country" just like our fellow travelers attempted to do here.  ;)

did you happen to see this?
(anniversaries are mighty popular these days...)

Gemayel, the president during Lebanon's civil war, told Voice of Lebanon that "alien hands," were behind the explosions.

"Lebanese do not kill Lebanese," he said.

it would stand to reason that muslims dont blow up mosques, either.

Only 'self-hating' ones do.  ;)

Yes. Seeing the Maliki puppet not even flinch when the bombs go off - twice - was 'interesting'...
They love anniversaries, perhaps even more than memorials. Symbolism is big in their game.

Do you know that last Sunday, a Sunni mosque, damaged and closed after the Samarra bombing was reopened - it's located smack in the middle of Shia Sadr City, were high representative from both the Sunni and Shia side pledged not to the usual suspects get them to kill each other. That Sunni mosque was repaired mostly with Shia funds. The Samarra Shia mosque was repaired mostly with Sunni funds. Some 'civil war'  - MSM will 'soon' tell us all the details...

I guess I could say something...but it would be some banal statement of the obvious.

I guess some poor sap Palestinian family at a two year olds birthday party are about to get a Hellfire Missile put amongst them.

It will be in retaliation for the suicide bombing Hamas will do the next day.

"Yawnnnn".

Thanks, that's the whole point of the exercise - to let them know "We Know".

I realize that it is almost embarrassing, but it's effective...

Watch some main-stream news? They are constantly 'explaining' their latest screw-up.
Today it was the 'Iran weapons evidence' the whole world laughed about.

They scare me. The street has just worked out the "poor guy" on the corner is the biggest scam artist of all time.

He has nowhere to go and the town is organizing a meeting.

Someone check under the chairs!

:-\

P.S - actually they dont scare me. I just gaze on in wonder at how low will they go?

Just when I think P.Q cant sink any lower...down he goes...and it does'nt seem to bother him. So it is with others, except they have Apache Gunships.

'Security officials estimated the “banana-shaped” bombs weighed at least 4 pounds and as much as 7 pounds.'

How do they know this?

Did they see or handle the bombs before they went off?

Or, maybe they deduced that this was a potassium bomb and pretzelled their way back to the source? :o
