The intense hunt for a missing Borough Park boy has taken a shocking and tragic turn. Half of Leibby Kletzky’s body was found in a Kensington, Brooklyn home following a search. More of Kletzky’s remains were found in a dumpster in Sunset Park. One man was arrested. That person, described as a member of the Orthodox Jewish community, reportedly told them to go to the dumpster, on 20th Street off Fourth Avenue in Greenwood Heights. Police found the dumpster's lid open and a suitcase inside that contained portions of the boy's dismembered body. Other parts of the body were reportedly found at the man's home, possibly in a refrigerator.

Missing Brooklyn boy found dead; 1 in custody
ABC 7 Eyewitness News

BROOKLYN (WABC) -- The body of a missing Brooklyn boy was found in a dumpster early Wednesday morning, and police have made one arrest in his murder.

A New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services Missing Child Alert had been issued for 9-year-old Leibby Kleztky, who didn't return to his Borough Park home after a day at a nearby camp.

Assemblyman Dov Hikind tells Eyewitness News that surveillance video released by police of Kleztky near a gold sedan on 18th Avenue between 45th Street and 46th Street led to the arrest.

"It was a very brutal murder," Hikind said. "We're all very, very sad. This is the worst possible conclusion imaginable."

The 35-year-old suspect was taken into custody after police and FBI agents went into a house in the Kensington section of Brooklyn just after 4 a.m. Police tracked the man down using the surveillance video and tracing credit-card purchases.

Police also taped off the house where they found the man, at the intersection of East 2nd Street and Avenue C. At least two other people were also taken out of the house, and a gold car was parked out front.

Kleztky left the Boyan Day Camp at 1205 44th Street Monday evening, but never showed up to meet his mother three blocks away.

On Tuesday night, thousands of neighbors, investigators and detectives helped Leibby's parents search for him.

Leibby was last seen walking by himself wearing black glasses, a gray and light blue striped shirt, navy pants, black sneakers and carrying a blue knapsack saying "Nechmod Day Camp."

Hikind and two anonymous community leaders were offering a $100,000 reward for anyone with information leading to his safe return.

`Now we know why they offered such a high reward.

I have a feeling we're going to start hearing a tad more about the child molestation epidemic in the Jewish community.
